Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Domain Pool's services.
Domain Registration & Transfers
Searching for, registering, and moving domains in or out of Domain Pool.
Search for a name from the Register Domains page. If it's available, add it to your cart and complete checkout — your organization's contacts are used automatically, or you can assign a saved contact profile before you buy.
Yes. Start a transfer from the Transfer Domains page — you'll need the domain unlocked at its current registrar and its transfer authorization code. We'll show you the transfer's status as it moves through each stage.
Yes, any time the domain isn't locked or mid-transfer. Use the Transfer Out tab on the domain's management page to unlock it and retrieve what the losing side needs to release it.
With auto-renew on (the default), we bill and renew it automatically before expiration. If auto-renew is off and the domain lapses, recovering it can involve extra fees or, past a certain point, losing it entirely — we recommend keeping auto-renew on for anything you don't want to risk losing.
Yes — Domain Pool manages domains across multiple registrar partners behind the scenes, and checkout handles a mixed cart as a single, normal purchase.
DNS & Nameservers
Pointing your domain and managing its records.
Yes — add, edit, and remove A, CNAME, MX, TXT, and other standard record types from the DNS tab on the domain's management page.
Yes. Update nameservers from the Nameservers tab. Switching away from Domain Pool's nameservers means DNS records are managed wherever your new nameservers point, not here.
Yes — the Web Redirection tab lets you forward a domain to another URL without setting up full hosting or DNS records.
WHOIS Privacy & Security
Keeping your registration details out of the public WHOIS database.
It hides your registrant contact details — name, email, phone, and address — from the public WHOIS lookup for that domain, replacing them with placeholder information.
It's an add-on you can enable per domain from its management page. Pricing depends on the domain, and you can turn it on or off independently for each domain you manage.
Yes, any time, from the same panel — except while a domain is actively listed for sale on the Marketplace, since a buyer needs to be able to verify who they're dealing with.
Yes — you can enable multi-factor authentication on your account from Settings for extra protection against unauthorized access.
Billing & Renewals
How you're billed for domains and services on Domain Pool.
Payments are processed by Stripe, so Domain Pool never stores your full card details. Your account and organization data are access-controlled by role, and you can add multi-factor authentication for extra protection.
There's no separate "subscription" to cancel — turn off auto-renew for that specific domain from its Overview tab any time before its renewal date, and it simply won't be billed or renewed again.
Domain registrations and renewals follow standard registry rules and are generally final once processed. If something's wrong on our end — a billing error or a failed order — contact support and we'll sort it out.
You're billed per domain and per service you actually use — registration, renewal, transfer, and optional add-ons like WHOIS privacy — rather than a fixed monthly plan. Your invoices and order history are always available under Account.
